Becoming Minimalish

🌱 Introducing Becoming Minimalish: The Art of Decluttering, One Day at a Time! 🌱

Hey there, fellow declutter enthusiasts and organization aficionados! Today, I want to share with you the story behind Becoming Minimalish and the idea that sparked this unconventional journey. But first, let me start by saying how much I absolutely adore having an organized home. There’s just something about a tidy space that makes my heart do a happy dance.

In my pre-baby days, when I worked full time, my Saturdays were dedicated to cleaning and organizing. Ah, the sweet satisfaction of tidying up every nook and cranny! But then, life decided to throw me a curveball. Just one-week before giving birth, my husband and I embarked on a daring adventure called “moving” And to make matters even more exciting, I had to recover from a C-section section. Yay, me!

As you can imagine, chaos reigned supreme during that period. Moving boxes seemed to multiply overnight, and I found myself unable to lift heavy objects or locate a suitable home for all our belongings. On top of that, my superhero husband was busy nurturing not one, but two growing businesses. And let’s not forget the fact that I was diving headfirst into the uncharted territory of mommyhood for the very first time. It was quite the adventure, to say the least.

Our current rental, which we affectionately refer to as our “temporary home,” has a rather peculiar layout and limited space for our entrepreneurial endeavors. So, what do we do? Well, we proudly turned our living room into a mini-warehouse to accommodate our burgeoning inventory. It’s organized to the best of our abilities, but let’s be honest, it still looks like a cluttered maze.

Now, here’s the kicker: I’m not complaining. Nope, not one bit. Why? Because this living room-turned-warehouse situation is what has enabled my amazing husband to keep me blissfully retired. So, until we can find a place to call our own or secure a proper warehouse, I’ve made peace with our slightly chaotic surroundings. And thus, the concept of “Minimalish” was born.

You see, if you were to drop by for a visit, you might be forgiven for assuming that we are far from being on a decluttering journey. Our overflowing inventory and lack of dedicated space for it might deceive you. But I assure you, we are committed to minimizing, little by little. We hold yard sales, donate, recycle, toss away what’s beyond repair, and utilize our storage to its maximum capacity. Yet, somehow, we always manage to find more ways and places where we can declutter and simplify our lives.

Becoming Minimalish is all about embracing the process. It’s about understanding that decluttering isn’t a one-time event that can be neatly ticked off a to-do list. Oh no, my friend, it’s a lifelong journey filled with ups, downs, and everything in between. We take things at our own pace, keeping what truly serves us and parting ways with items that have lost their purpose or usefulness.

Of course, it’s not always a walk in the park. Some days, my mommy duties and the demands of running two businesses consume my every waking moment. And just when I thought life couldn’t get any busier, I found myself contemplating reopening my apparel and accessories boutique. Yes, I’m a glutton for productivity punishment! But hey, the inventory I need for my businesses isn’t just gathering dust. It’s fast-moving, joy-sparking inventory that helps fatten up our wallets. Can’t argue with that, right?

So, my dear friends, that’s why I decided to document and share this journey with all of you. I wanted to let you in on the secret that it’s not always an “all or nothing” game. You can have a bit of overstock for your business while you save up for that dreamy warehouse. You can be at peace with where you are, knowing that you have the power to conquer the clutter one day at a time.

Join me on this adventure called Becoming Minimalish, where we’ll laugh, learn, and maybe even discover a few creative solutions to decluttering that will leave you wondering, “Why didn’t I think of that?” So, let’s calm the chaos, embrace simplicity, and remember that no matter how cluttered life may seem, there’s always room for becoming minimalish.

Keep decluttering, my friends, one small step at a time!
